Kreines & Kreines, Inc. gets calls and e-mails every week from someone who wants to "stop a tower."  We prefer working with local governments to plan for wireless issues in a way which is best for citizens, not the wireless companies. However, we sometimes provide citizens groups directly with wireless planning services, just as we do local governments. Here is the story of one such citizens group, who blew the "tower consultants" out of town...

The citizen who contacted us lived in a subdivision that was threatened by a proposed 194-foot tall monopole within 100 feet of some residential backyards.  The citizens group retained Kreines & Kreines, Inc. to review the tower application.  We came up with a 20-page report on the tower application that would have sent any application to its grave.  We sent the report to the citizens group with directions on how the citizens could present the information from our report to their County Board of Zoning Appeals at the public hearing.

Here is what the citizens group had to say about our report:

We are both impressed and amazed at your in-depth level of review, analysis and insightful conclusions regarding the multiple issues we face.

Thanks so much for your excellent work, performed in a very timely manner and we look FORWARD instead of dreading the meeting tomorrow night.

Warm praise indeed, but nothing like what we received after the public hearing from the citizens:

WE WON, WE WON, WE WON … the County Board voted unanimously to deny the Tower Site.  Thank you for all your support and hard work, and the information you provided us with …

According to the newspaper report on the public hearing, the County Local News, the citizens, "proved that the sometimes the best defense is offense as they succeeded in defeating a 190-foot cell phone tower next to their subdivision."
